What a gorgeous day it turned out to be! OK...we didnt get enough for dodge ball but we had a GREAT game of monkey in the middle and frisbee :) We started off on the trails....we talked and played games while we were riding....this was a GREAT time of fellowship! We then stopped at this really pretty picnic area and rested a while, just to meet up with a few of our ladies walking the trail. When we all returned we headed over for some icecream!! We all experienced a little bit of a sugar rush.....but.....the kids seemed to be the most effected...lol!! What better way to enjoy the aftermath of all that sugar than to play a game of monkey in the middle. I am not sure who had more fun, Dave or the girls :) We all then enjoyed a GREAT game of frisbee....thanks to Kristy :) Between hearing Hope say throw it to me Snyderman100 times, Ed's fancy frisbee tricks, Anita's acrobatic skills, Kristy's throwin it straight coachin, Hannah's dodging Ed's tricks all the time, Dave's multi taskin...picture takin....frisbee throwin, Jeremy's givin everyone a turn, and my throwin it really hard and callin the rain down on us, we all had a fabulous time!! Nearly four hours later we called it a night! We hope you all join in on the fun next time!!

What if it rains?
If a planned ride needs to be cancelled, a post will be made here and an email will be sent to the biking club email list the morning of the ride. If you do not have email, make sure to let us know and we will call. Feel free to call Amy or Dave (numbers are included in emails and printed flyers. Due to privacy reasons, we cannot post them here)

Directions from Akron Chapel (135 Fir Hill St. Akron, OH 44304): Head North on Fir Hill St. towards E. Market. Turn Left on Market St. and head about 1.6 miles to Merriman Rd. Take a slight right on Merriman Rd. (Merriman is at an angle). In about 3.5 miles, Merriman becomes Riverview Rd. Look for a BP station at the bottom of the hill on the left. Keep going straight and the Botzum parking area will be on your Left in about 2 miles. If you come to Bath Rd, you went too far!

Portage St. turns into Locust St. at some point). Turn left on Cherry St. and the park is on the left just (about 2 tenths of a mile, just past the bridge that goes over the canal)

Need to rent a bike?
Bicycle rentals are available from Century Cycles in Peninsula for $7 an hour. Prices include sales tax and helmets. Credit card and driver’s license required. No reservations are required or accepted. You may need to transport the rental bike to the ride start location.
